Analogous to the contents of the booklet a small exhibition is arranged in museum Gilded Swaen in Zwijndrecht.
Princess Marianne was the youngest daughter of King William I and his wife Princess Wilhelmina (Mimi) of Prussia. She was born in 1810 in Berlin, where the royal family stayed in exile, fleeing for Napoleon Bonaparte. After the French emperor was dethroned in 1813 and William Frederick was received in Scheveningen as the new ruler, also Marianne turned back to Holland. A short time later the Kingdom of the Netherlands was proclaimed, Willem Frederik as King William I and his wife as the first Queen Wilhelmina.
