The 3 mills at the Stompwijkseweg in Leidschendam-Voorburg is easy to see from the A4 Hague-Amsterdam, near Leidschendam and Stompwijk.
The 3 mill combination consists of three octagonal polder mills and moves water from the Driemanspolder in three steps to the almost 5 meters higher Stompwijker Vaart.
The mill combination was built in 1671 to make the dry polder and originally consisted of four mills. At the end of the 17th century, the number was reduced to three mills. The mill three-course remained in operation until 1951 when an electrically driven pumping station took over the drainage.
The mill combination has been restored in recent years and can be used to support the normal drainage of the Driemanspolder. The mills are owned by the province of South Holland.
