The refugees and permit holders who come to live in the municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg are often taken care of by a 'language buddy'.
This has been due for a number of years to the efforts of a number of organizations involved, including the joint Churches.

The brochure that accompanies the traveling exhibition shows that the contact between buddies and status holders is always a reciprocal process. Buddies support people who have come to live with us from another country, but these people also bring something with them, making them richer in society.

Ten permit holders and ten buddies from the municipality each tell their story in the brochure. Both the panels of the traveling exhibition and the accompanying brochure are supported with beautiful portrait photographs made by members of the Fotokring Leidschendam-Voorburg.
